I thought I might mention that No, I wouldn't let random people come sleep in my house, but I had spoken with the new neighbors a few times and also had seen what lots of their friends and family looked like when they visited. I also knew what company they both worked for.
They stopped by Sunday evening to thank us for letting her stay the night and brought a plate full of cookies (from the cookie exchange she hosted for the women at her work) and a gift card. I wish they wouldn't feel so badly about it! They stayed for an hour and we'll definitely have them over again.
